Psychology Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

About the role
We are seeking a recent Psychology graduate to join our specialist day school as a SEN Teaching Assistant. The role provides hands‑on experience supporting children and young people with complex additional needs, helping you build a foundation for a future career in clinical, educational or mental‑health fields.
Key responsibilities
- Support students inside the classroom and during outdoor or community‑based activities.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists and healthcare professionals to deliver personalised learning plans.
- Encourage communication, confidence and social development.
- Assist with personal care, physical support and the management of medical or sensory needs.
- Promote a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.
- Help students develop life‑skills and independence for adulthood.
Required profile
- Recent graduate with a degree in Psychology.
- Genuine interest in special educational needs and mental health.
- Ability to build trusting relationships with students, families and staff.
- Willingness to work full‑time during term dates (40 hours/week, Monday‑Friday).

- Competitive salary £22,996‑£25,068 per annum, dependent on experience.
