Pump Service Engineer

About the role

The Pump Service Engineer will join a specialist wastewater solutions provider, delivering on‑site service for sewage treatment plants, pumps and related systems across domestic, commercial and industrial sites. Working independently, you will ensure equipment runs efficiently and provide a high standard of customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, repairs and emergency call‑outs on sewage treatment plants and pumps.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and perform corrective work.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance and respond to breakdowns.
• Liaise with customers on‑site, providing clear updates on work progress.
• Coordinate with the scheduling team and line manager to optimise job completion.
• Produce accurate post‑visit reports and feedback.
• Manage van stock, ensuring tools and spare parts are available.
• Use mobile technology to manage daily schedules and job information.

Required profile

• Previous experience in pump engineering, wastewater or sewage treatment environments.
• Mechanical and/or electrical engineering knowledge.
• Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Relevant mechanical or electrical engineering qualifications (17th, 18th or 19th Edition desirable).

What we offer

• Permanent contract with a salary of £34,000‑£40,000 per annum.
• Full‑time role – 45 hours per week, day‑shift with some flexibility.
