Purchase Order Clerk

About the role

Axis CLC is seeking a proactive Purchase Order Clerk to join its Finance team at the Stratford office in East London. This full‑time position offers a solid entry point into finance, with the chance to develop into a supervisory role as the team expands.

Key responsibilities

• Receive purchase orders via telephone or email from operatives and process them promptly.
• Enter orders into three separate electronic systems according to the operative’s division.
• Gather detailed information on required goods from operatives.
• Confirm raised orders with operatives and divisional supervisors.
• Process purchases made through operative purchase cards.
• Perform filing, photocopying, invoice retrieval and other ad‑hoc tasks as directed by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Interest in finance and accounting.
• Strong communication skills with staff and managers at all levels.
• Previous experience working in an office environment.
• Good literacy and numerical abilities.
• Ability to handle complex telephone queries.
• Team player who can also work independently.
• Excellent attention to detail.
