Purchasing and Contracts Manager

About the role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Purchasing & Contracts Manager to join a global manufacturing organisation in a newly created role. You will own contract governance, supplier management and procurement activities across a complex international business.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full contract life cycle, from negotiation and implementation through to renewal and termination.
• Support supplier contract management, terms and conditions reviews, and compliance activities.
• Develop and maintain a centralised contract and lease management database.
• Drive contract governance improvements and increase visibility of key contractual obligations.
• Lead supplier performance, consolidation and rationalisation initiatives.
• Support procurement activities across a range of indirect spend categories.
• Manage property leases, supplier agreements and service contracts.
• Collaborate with UK and international stakeholders on approvals, governance and compliance requirements.
• Oversee company fleet contracts and supplier relationships.
• Supervise a Purchasing Assistant and support wider procurement objectives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in contract management, procurement, commercial governance or supplier relationship management.
• Strong contract negotiation and management capabilities.
• Commercial awareness with excellent stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with procurement, legal and operational teams.
• Experience managing supplier relationships and improving governance processes.
• Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Proactive, hands‑on approach with a continuous‑improvement mindset.
• Confidence engaging with both UK and international stakeholders.

Required skills

What we offer

• Salary circa £50,000 – £55,000 per year.
