Python Automation & Networking Developer

About the role

We are seeking a Python Automation Developer to join our team in Chester. You will work on building and maintaining automation tools that support network operations and infrastructure engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement Python automation scripts to streamline operational workflows.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify automation opportunities and gather requirements.
• Troubleshoot, debug and optimise existing automation solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and participate in code reviews.
• Support the integration of automation with internal platforms, APIs and monitoring tools.

Required profile

• Strong Python programming experience, especially in building automation tools.
• Hands‑on experience with Django for internal platforms and APIs.
• Proficiency consuming REST APIs and handling JSON/XML data.
• Familiarity with Ansible or similar configuration‑management tools.
• Background in Network Operations, Infrastructure Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Solid Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Understanding of monitoring, telemetry, observability and event‑management platforms.
• Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
