Python Developer – Fixed Income Trading Technology

About the role

We are looking for a Python Developer to join the Fixed Income trading technology team of a leading international investment bank. The role sits within Front‑Office Technology and focuses on building and maintaining production trading systems that support trade capture, execution, pricing and distribution.

Key responsibilities

• Develop production‑grade, object‑oriented Python applications for the trading desk.
• Design and implement scalable, resilient backend services.
• Improve system performance, reliability and concurrency handling.
• Own defined components and deliver new functionalities and enhancements.
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews and engineering standards.
• Work directly with traders and senior technologists.
• Contribute to testing, CI/CD pipelines and release processes.

Required profile

• Proven Python development experience in a trading or financial services environment.
• Strong object‑oriented programming skills in Python.
• Experience building backend or distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of threading, concurrency and performance optimisation.
• Business knowledge of at least one area: Fixed Income, FX or Rates.
