QA Manager

About the role

We are seeking a proactive QA Manager to lead food safety, quality and compliance at our Clitheroe manufacturing site. The role involves overseeing a dedicated QA team, collaborating with Production, Engineering, Hygiene and Supply Chain, and ensuring every product meets the highest standards before leaving the factory.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the QA team, set objectives and conduct performance reviews.
• Maintain and continuously improve the site’s Quality Management System and ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, BRCGS and retailer specifications.
• Manage allergen control, traceability, environmental monitoring, pest control and microbiological testing programmes.
• Review and approve corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) and oversee product release procedures.
• Prepare for and support internal, customer, regulatory and third‑party audits, and coordinate follow‑up actions.
• Escalate food safety or legal compliance risks promptly and drive a positive food‑safety culture across all departments.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a senior quality assurance role within food manufacturing.
• Strong leadership and people‑development skills.
• Ability to work on a rotating shift pattern and be visible on the factory floor.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.
