QC Analyst – Raw Materials (Rotating Shifts)

About the role

We are seeking a QC Analyst to join our Raw Materials team in a modern laboratory environment near Preston. The role involves testing and releasing raw materials, bulk products and finished goods while supporting continuous improvement and compliance with GLP and GMP standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform physical, chemical and analytical testing of raw materials, DI water, bulk products and finished goods.
• Release materials and products from quarantine after successful QC testing.
• Carry out wet‑chemistry testing in line with SOPs and laboratory methods.
• Raise non‑conformances for out‑of‑specification items.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and update relevant databases.
• Assist with equipment calibration, maintenance and routine checks.
• Support validation activities and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Ensure GLP, GMP and health‑and‑safety standards are upheld at all times.

Required profile

• Degree in Chemistry or a closely related scientific discipline (essential).
• Previous experience in an industrial laboratory (essential, not necessarily extensive).
• Good practical knowledge of analytical and wet‑chemistry techniques.
• Experience in a GLP and/or GMP regulated environment (advantageous).
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and computer‑based laboratory systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
