QC Microbiology Technician – 12‑Month Contract

About the role
This brand‑new position supports a global pharmaceutical manufacturer in Swindon. You will perform high‑volume microbiology testing on raw materials and finished drug products, ensuring compliance with GMP and GLP standards.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct QC microbiology testing on raw materials and finished products.
- Provide technical support to scientists.
- Test microbiological properties of materials using defined methods in line with GMP/GLP.
- Receive and report results via the GLIMS system.
- Collect environmental monitoring and water samples.
- Perform growth‑promotion testing of incoming goods.
- Execute testing of validation protocols.
Required profile
- Microbiology qualification or equivalent.
- Experience in a pharmaceutical or similarly regulated environment.
- Ability to work in clean‑room conditions (clean‑shaven, no makeup or jewellery).
- Willingness to work either Tuesday‑Saturday or Sunday‑Thursday, 8 am‑4 pm.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook.
What we offer
- PAYE rate of £13.58 per hour.
- 12‑month contract with potential extension or permanent placement based on performance.
