Qualified Accountant – ACA/ACCA

About the role

Our client, an independent accountancy practice on the northern outskirts of Maidenhead, is seeking a qualified Accountant to join their friendly team. The role involves managing a mixed portfolio of clients across various sectors and reports directly to the Partners.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing a diverse client portfolio, acting as the first point of contact.
• Prepare statutory accounts for SMEs, limited companies, sole traders and larger businesses.
• Produce management accounts and handle complex VAT returns.
• Contribute to personal and corporate tax compliance and advisory work.
• Mentor and support junior team members.
• Manage corporate and individual client relationships, including site visits.
• Take ownership of a personal client portfolio as a client manager.

Required profile

• Qualified ACA or ACCA (or equivalent experience).
• Current experience working within a UK accountancy practice.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, corporation tax, income tax and VAT.
• Ability to juggle priorities and manage workload effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with accountancy, taxation and practice management software.
