Qualified Accountant – Senior Client Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a qualified accountant to join our modern practice in Milton Keynes. The role involves managing a portfolio of ambitious SME clients, providing accounting, tax and advisory services, and acting as a trusted business advisor. You will work with the leadership team and junior staff to deliver high‑quality financial insight using cloud technology.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of SME clients across various industries.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication.
• Provide financial insight and practical business advice.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts under FRS 102 and FRS 105.
• Prepare corporation tax computations and CT600 submissions.
• Produce management accounts and financial reports.
• Review bookkeeping, VAT and accounts prepared by junior team members and provide guidance.
• Support workflow management, resource planning and junior staff development.
• Work with cloud accounting software such as Xero and Dext and identify automation opportunities.
• Assist with Companies House filings and company secretarial matters.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience.
• Experience working in a UK practice environment.

• Dext (formerly Receipt Bank) for expense processing.
• Cloud accounting and digital automation tools.
