Qualified Finance Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead our finance function in Croydon. This hands‑on leadership position offers autonomy and the chance to partner with senior stakeholders across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a finance team of eight professionals.
• Prepare monthly management accounts with insightful commentary.
• Produce annual budgets, forecasts and cash‑flow projections.
• Manage the year‑end audit process and liaise with external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and UK GAAP and oversee VAT returns for multiple group companies.
• Control cash‑flow and payment processes, guaranteeing supplier payments within agreed terms.
• Conduct customer credit checks and arrange credit insurance.
• Provide commercial and financial support to sales, operations and senior management, including pricing, stock availability and inventory analysis.
• Participate in customer meetings where financial input is required and prepare presentations for fundraising and strategic initiatives.
• Identify and implement improvements to financial controls, processes and reporting.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Proven experience as a Finance Manager or in a senior finance role.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
• Experience managing audits and working with external stakeholders.
• People‑management experience with a track record of developing teams.
• Highly organised, proactive and able to work with minimal supervision in a fast‑paced environment.
