Qualified Paraplanner

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Paraplanner to join a small, independent financial planning firm in the Bury area. You will work closely with a team of Financial Planners, providing technical support, research and compliant report writing while enjoying a hybrid working model with two days remote per week.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare compliant suitability reports and technical recommendations.
• Conduct research across pensions, investments and protection products.
• Collaborate with Financial Planners to develop tailored client recommendations.
• Review client investment portfolios, asset allocations and risk profiles.
• Prepare illustrations, reports and supporting documentation.
• Complete applications and proposal forms accurately.
• Liaise with providers, clients and third parties throughout the advice process.
• Assist with implementing client recommendations, including investment changes where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and compliant client records.
• Use cashflow modelling software to support financial planning recommendations.
• Contribute to the firm’s central investment proposition through research and analysis.
• Suggest improvements to processes and ways of working.
• Ensure all work complies with FCA regulations and internal compliance procedures.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Paraplanner within an IFA or financial planning practice.
• Experience preparing suitability reports and supporting Financial Advisers.
• Good understanding of pensions, investments and wider financial planning.
• Strong report writing, research and organisational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Collaborative approach with a positive attitude.
• Commitment to delivering excellent client service.
• Progress towards the Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning.
