About the role
We are partnering with a welcoming secondary school in Bootle to recruit a qualified English teacher for a long‑term placement starting in September. The role involves delivering the English curriculum to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils, with the possibility of extending to Key Stage 5.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and assess engaging English lessons for KS3 and KS4 classes.
- Maintain effective classroom management and uphold high standards of behaviour.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to help students improve their writing and analytical skills.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and school initiatives.
- Participate in staff meetings, parent evenings and professional development activities.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in England.
- Proven experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable).
- Strong communication and classroom management abilities.
- Commitment to a long‑term teaching role beginning in September.
Required skills
- Curriculum planning and delivery for secondary English.
- Assessment and feedback techniques.
- Use of standard educational resources and classroom technology.
