About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Qualified Secondary Teacher to join a specialist school in Tower Hamlets. You will work with pupils who have autism and severe learning difficulties, delivering engaging and differentiated lessons in a supportive environment.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver secondary curriculum lessons tailored to individual pupil needs.
- Create a safe, inclusive classroom that promotes academic, social and emotional growth.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists and the multidisciplinary team to support pupil development.
- Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies to maximise learning outcomes.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development related to special education.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a valid teaching qualification.
- Strong classroom management skills and a patient, flexible approach.
- Commitment to inclusive education and supporting pupils with complex needs.
- Willingness to work closely with a multidisciplinary team.
Required skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learning needs.
- Effective communication with pupils, colleagues and families.
- Basic knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and severe learning difficulties.
