Qualified Social Worker – Assessment & Support Team (Blackpool)

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join the Assessment and Support Team at Blackpool Council. You will work directly with children, families and partner agencies to deliver short‑term support and early‑help interventions.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct Child & Family Assessments and develop Child in Need Plans.
- Coordinate early‑help support with partner agencies.
- Manage S7 private family court proceedings and Section 47 child protection enquiries.
- Prepare families for Initial Child Protection Conferences.
- Initiate Initial Care Proceedings in emergency safeguarding situations.
- Carry out joint assessments with Housing for homeless young people.
Required profile
- Qualified Social Worker with relevant registration.
- Proven experience in child protection and family assessment work.
- Ability to build trusting relationships with children and families.
- Commitment to a restorative, strength‑based practice approach.
