Qualified Social Worker – Children Looked After Team

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join the Children Looked After (CLA) team for Knowsley Council. This contract position offers a competitive rate of £31.15 per hour and involves working directly with vulnerable children and families in the Knowsley area.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and manage the care needs of children looked after, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
• Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with multi‑agency partners.
• Conduct regular reviews and monitor progress against care objectives.
• Provide support and guidance to foster carers and other stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate case records and comply with statutory reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Qualified Social Worker with current registration.
• Proven experience working with looked‑after children or in a CLA team.
• Strong knowledge of UK child protection legislation and safeguarding practice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
