Qualified Social Worker – Children with Disabilities (Rochdale)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Children with Disabilities Duty and Assessment Team at Rochdale Council. You will play a pivotal role in supporting families, assessing children’s needs and delivering person‑centred care plans.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct statutory assessments in line with the Children Act 1989 and the Care Act 2014.
• Identify and evaluate children’s strengths, risks and support requirements.
• Develop and review care and support plans in partnership with families and multidisciplinary professionals.
• Manage complex caseloads while mentoring less experienced social workers.
• Deputise for the Advanced Practitioner when required.

Required profile

• Qualified social worker with substantial experience in children’s services.
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation (Children Act, Care Act).
• Ability to work collaboratively across multi‑agency teams.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
