Qualified Social Worker - Commissioning Reviews

About the role

Our client Hackney Council is seeking a Qualified Social Worker to join their Commissioning Reviews team. The role involves managing a small team, overseeing budgets, and delivering person‑centred reviews of care services.

Key responsibilities

• Work across the department and with external organisations to carry out commissioning, contracting and person‑centred reviews of individuals receiving care and support.
• Support the development and delivery of an annual commissioning delivery plan, taking lead responsibility for specific delivery areas.
• Promote activities, resources and universal services such as Telecare to improve health and wellbeing.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders – financial affairs, care charges, QA, brokerage, commissioning, adult social care, ILDS and mental health teams – to achieve positive outcomes.
• Analyse and evaluate commissioned services, producing recommendations for the adults commissioning and service management team.
• Identify service gaps and specific population needs, ensuring robust evidence informs future commissioning intentions.

Required profile

• Supervisory experience, managing at least two NQ Reviewing Officers.
• Experience in managing efficiency and budgets.
• Knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act and Safeguarding.
• Minimum two years’ experience working within a Commissioning Reviews team.
