Qualified Social Worker – Community Team (Trafford Council)

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join the Community Team within Trafford Council's West Neighbourhood Team. You will work with adults facing a range of challenges, including long‑term conditions, substance misuse, hoarding, dementia and alcohol‑related issues.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive social work assessments using a strength‑based, person‑centred approach.
- Develop and deliver tailored interventions and secure appropriate funding in line with Reshaping Trafford policy.
- Respond promptly to safeguarding enquiries, adhering to the Care Act and local procedures.
- Collaborate with multi‑agency partners to ensure coordinated support for service users.
- Maintain accurate case records and contribute to team meetings and reviews.
Required profile
- Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 3 years post‑qualification experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work with adults with complex needs.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, the Care Act and local policies.
- Motivated, resilient and able to manage a busy caseload.
Required skills
- Social work assessment and case planning.
- Person‑centred, strength‑based intervention techniques.
- Safeguarding response and risk assessment.
- Knowledge of funding mechanisms and policy compliance.
