Qualified Social Worker – Duty & Advice Team (Oldham)

About the role

Vitalis is recruiting an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join the Duty and Advice Team within Oldham Council. You will work in a co‑located multi‑agency environment alongside police, health, community safety, adult social care, IDVA and the Prevention Hub.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to contacts made to the Multi‑Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) and assess the needs of children and families.
• Identify and secure the most appropriate services to support and safeguard vulnerable individuals.
• Communicate effectively with families, partner agencies and the public to gather information and make evidence‑based decisions.
• Make informed threshold decisions in line with statutory duties and practice standards.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to multi‑agency case discussions.

Required profile

• Qualified social worker with a solid understanding of statutory social work functions.
• Experience working within multi‑agency safeguarding contexts.
• Confidence in making threshold and safeguarding decisions.
• Strong communication skills with families, agencies and the public.
