Qualified Social Worker – Learning Disabilities

About the role

This temporary, full‑time position supports individuals with learning disabilities by delivering high‑quality social work practice in line with professional standards. You will work within a multidisciplinary team in Swindon, applying your expertise to complex cases.

Key responsibilities

• Uphold HCPC standards and the BASW Professional Capabilities Framework for Social Workers.
• Make high‑quality judgments in situations of increasing complexity, risk and uncertainty.
• Anticipate emerging issues without pre‑judging outcomes, using initiative to broaden response options.
• Provide specialist knowledge in one or more practice areas and act as a reliable resource for peers.
• Maintain familiarity with local resource networks and refer clients appropriately.

Required profile

• Qualified social worker registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while accessing support when needed.
• Confidence and initiative to handle complex cases and provide expert advice.
• Recognition by colleagues as a source of reliable knowledge.
