Qualified Social Worker – Safeguarding Team (Leeds)

About the role
We are seeking a qualified Social Worker to join the Safeguarding Team at Leeds City Council. This contract role is based at the Tech North office in Chapel Allerton and offers a rate of £35 per hour.
Key responsibilities
- Provide support to area children’s social work teams, including duty work and handling new referrals.
- Conduct assessments and manage a caseload of children in need, child protection cases, and children in care.
- Participate in safeguarding proceedings and collaborate with multi‑agency partners.
Required profile
- Qualified Social Worker with experience in children’s safeguarding.
- Ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload.
- Familiarity with Leeds City Council procedures and local safeguarding frameworks.
Required skills
- Social work assessment and case management.
- Knowledge of child protection legislation and best practice.
