Qualified Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Croydon)

About the role

Join a vibrant primary school in Croydon as a Qualified Teaching Assistant. You will work closely with teachers to support high‑quality learning and help every child reach their potential.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons.
• Prepare classroom resources, learning materials and set up activities.
• Deliver small‑group and one‑to‑one interventions for academic and social progress.
• Support pupils with additional learning needs or EHCPs.
• Supervise pupils during lessons, playtime, group work and transitions.
• Help with assessments, observations and maintain accurate records.
• Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential).
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (essential).
• Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (essential).
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or in an educational setting (desirable).
• Strong understanding of child development and teaching strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a supportive team.
• Good organisational skills and initiative.
• First Aid certification (preferred).
• Additional training in SEN, safeguarding or behaviour support (preferred).
