Quality Assurance Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead our Technical team at the Birdham factory. You will be responsible for maintaining the highest food safety and quality standards, ensuring our chocolate products meet all regulatory and customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the Quality Assurance team to deliver daily high‑quality standards.
• Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure audit readiness for BRCGS, retailer, Soil Association, Fairtrade and other third‑party audits.
• Act as HACCP Team Leader, reviewing and updating the HACCP plan.
• Manage internal audit programmes, corrective and preventive actions, and accurate documentation.
• Investigate quality issues, conduct root‑cause analysis and implement effective solutions.
• Support product release, new product development trials, and planned preventative maintenance from a food‑safety perspective.
• Handle customer complaints and provide technical support to Customer Services.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a senior quality assurance role within food manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, GMP and relevant certification schemes.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective leadership and communication skills.
