Quality Assurance Reviewer

About the role

Join the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) as a Quality Assurance Reviewer. You will work primarily across London, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, visiting member firms to assess audit quality and ensure regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled visits to ICAEW member firms, reviewing audit files and challenging the quality of audit work.
• Carry out Practice Assurance, DPB and other regulatory monitoring visits, managing each review from planning through to formal reporting.
• Plan and prepare reviews from home, using remote days to finalize reports and schedule upcoming visits.
• Deliver ad‑hoc project work and third‑party contract assignments, with occasional overseas opportunities.
• Act as an ambassador for the Quality Assurance Department, building trusted relationships with firm contacts and contributing to a collaborative team culture.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience, including senior‑manager level external audit work.
• Extensive audit experience across multiple industry sectors and thorough knowledge of Auditing Standards.
