Quality Assurance Year‑In‑Industry Placement

About the role

Join Luxfer MEL Technologies as a Quality Assurance Year‑In‑Industry student, supporting the Quality & Compliance team in Manchester. Working under the Quality Manager, you will help maintain and develop the company’s quality management system while gaining hands‑on experience in a global manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with contract review, CAPA, non‑conformance management and product release activities.
• Maintain calibration tools and support internal audit processes, including supplier audits.
• Update and manage QMS documentation using SharePoint and the company intranet.
• Work with SAP QM to record and track quality actions.
• Collaborate with Materials QC, Operations and other departments on continuous improvement projects.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
• Experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities, with attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Required skills

• SAP QM
• Microsoft Excel (intermediate – data analysis, graphs)
• SharePoint / intranet document management
• Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
