Quality & Contracts Officer

About the role

Wirral Council is seeking a Quality & Contracts Officer to support the delivery of high‑quality adult social care across the borough. The role will help shape and sustain an efficient Community Care Market, working closely with providers, health partners and internal teams to drive continuous quality improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and monitor the quality of care delivered by Adult Social Care providers.
• Analyse performance data and apply the RAG risk framework to identify low‑ and medium‑risk providers.
• Support providers in developing improvement plans to enhance outcomes, resilience and sustainability.
• Collaborate with care providers, health partners and operational teams to influence market development.
• Contribute to contractual management, including performance reporting and risk oversight.

• Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities independently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging a wide range of stakeholders.
• Experience working to defined targets and interpreting data to inform decisions.

Required skills

• Ability to analyse and interpret performance data.
• Familiarity with risk assessment frameworks such as RAG.
