Quality Control Associate (Credit Operations)

About the role

YouLend is looking for a Quality Control (QC) Associate to join its Credit Operations team in London. The role will focus on performing quality control checks across Credit Decisions, Credit Eligibility and Loan Closing processes, ensuring compliance with internal guidelines and external regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular QC checks on underwriting decisions for new applications and renewals.
• Review SME underwriting decisions, analysing management accounts, commercial bureau data and financial metrics.
• Identify errors or inconsistencies and provide feedback to improve underwriting performance.
• Perform targeted reviews of potential fraud cases and ensure fraud detection policies are applied.
• Collaborate with the Credit Policy and Oversight Manager to maintain a proactive QC framework.
• Support refinement of underwriting policies and procedures.
• Prepare regular reports summarising QC findings, recommendations and performance metrics.
• Work closely with the Credit Risk team and other departments to drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of SME underwriting experience, including assessment of management accounts and commercial bureau data.
• Proven experience working within a structured QC framework and driving improvements.
• Strong analytical abilities with high attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across functions.
