Quality Control Inspector

About the role

Gap Technical is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join an aerospace manufacturing facility near Welwyn Garden City. This full‑time position works Monday to Friday, 8 am‑4 pm, offering a competitive salary, benefits and bonus.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical sheets.
• Carry out dimensional inspection of aerospace components.
• Use handheld measuring devices such as calipers, gauges and micrometres.
• Set and achieve daily inspection targets.
• Record non‑conformances in a clear, descriptive manner.
• Sign off Certificates of Conformance (training provided).
• Complete first‑off and final inspections.

Required profile

• Minimum three years’ experience in an aerospace inspection environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of inspection processes, methodologies and CMM operation.
• Familiarity with AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports.

Required skills

• Use of handheld measuring devices (calipers, gauges, micrometres).
• Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) operation.
• AS9102 First Article Inspection Report preparation.
• Dimensional inspection of aerospace components.
• Interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications.
