Quality Control Team Leader

About the role

Our client designs, builds and services highly engineered products for fluid and motion control applications. They are seeking an experienced Quality Control Team Leader to manage the QC inspection team in Poole and drive continuous improvement across the department.

Key responsibilities

• Daily management of a five‑person Quality Control Inspection Team, setting targets, deadlines and objectives.
• Raise sourcing concerns to the Lead Process Quality Engineer and propose corrective actions.
• Recruit, induct and train new personnel, ensuring competency and compliance with company policies.
• Conduct appraisals, performance reviews and manage staff relations, including return‑to‑work interviews.
• Maintain NDE qualifications (SNT‑TC‑1A Level 2, PCN Level 2) and ensure staff certifications meet QA requirements.
• Utilise inspection measurement techniques, CMM and other inspection equipment to verify product quality.
• Represent quality control at daily business planning meetings and liaise closely with the planning department.

Required profile

• Proven team‑leadership experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of MSA, process capability, SPC and ISO 9001:2015 standards.
• Hands‑on mechanical inspection background with ability to operate CMM and NDE equipment.
• Experience managing recruitment, training, performance appraisal and staff relations.
