Quality Controller – Confectionery Production

About the role

Join the Sweet Team at Bristow's of Devon as a Quality Controller. You will support production by ensuring all confectionery items meet the highest food safety, legal and quality standards during a period of growth and change.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out daily quality assurance checks and temperature verifications.
• Monitor production standards against company expectations.
• Complete weekly GMP audits and report trends.
• Conduct environmental swabbing and water sampling as scheduled.
• Sample and inspect raw materials, packaging and finished products.
• Maintain food safety, quality and production documentation.
• Investigate non‑conformances and implement corrective and preventative actions.
• Manage quarantine and rejection processes for non‑conforming products.
• Organise weekly product tasting sessions and lead quality review meetings.
• Identify continuous‑improvement opportunities and support the Head of Technical.
• Act as deputy for the Head of Technical when required and assist the wider Technical team.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of Quality Assurance experience in the food industry.
• Level 2 HACCP qualification.
• Level 2 Food Safety qualification.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
