Quality Engineer

About the role

The Quality Engineer will support the Quality Manager in delivering high‑quality civil engineering works for the Hinkley Point C project. Working on‑site at the BYLOR joint venture, you will help implement and maintain the quality management system across teams and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Implement, cascade, train and brief BYLOR teams and suppliers on project requirements and the BYLOR Quality Management System, including plans, procedures, guides and templates.
• Develop training materials as required and provide guidance on the preparation of quality deliverables such as Quality Plans, Inspection & Test Plans, and quality records.
• Manage non‑conformances, ensuring root‑cause identification, corrective actions and proper documentation.
• Review and approve life‑time quality records for client approval, ensuring traceability of works.
• Support the handover process for rooms and buildings nearing completion, focusing on records and outstanding works.
• Monitor quality KPIs, drive continuous improvement and intervene when quality risks arise, escalating to senior management as needed.
• Identify improvement opportunities, define actions and follow up on implementation.

Required profile

• Excellent communication skills, able to present quality matters to project teams, suppliers and client organisations.
• High level of organisation with the ability to follow processes and multitask across multiple tasks simultaneously.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of quality management principles and procedures.
• Experience with quality plans, inspection & test plans, and record‑keeping systems.
