Quality Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join the Electronics Value Stream in Melksham. Reporting to the Electronics Value Stream Manager, you will be responsible for the quality management of underwater production and will drive improvements in quality, safety, delivery and productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support continuous‑improvement (Kaizen) activities, reviewing processes and updating documentation such as SOPs and control plans.
• Conduct root‑cause investigations using structured methods (5 Whys, 8D) and manage corrective‑and‑preventive actions (CAPA).
• Apply FMEA and control‑plan analysis to reduce safety, quality and delivery risks.
• Monitor KPI and OKR data, driving actions to improve performance across the value stream.
• Coordinate pre‑production part builds with planning and production teams.
• Support APQP/NPI projects, applying lean manufacturing best practices.
• Maintain customer quality experience and ensure compliance with health‑and‑safety standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (e.g., Quality, Manufacturing, Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering) – desirable.
• 2‑3 years of experience in a quality engineering or manufacturing environment, preferably in electronics.
• Proven track record of continuous‑improvement, Kaizen and lean principles.
• Ability to work hands‑on across multi‑skilled teams and manage change control processes.

Required skills

• Knowledge of IPC‑A‑610 and IPC‑A‑620 standards.
• Six Sigma and/or Statistical Process Control training and application.
• Experience with FMEA, control plans and APQP/NPI processes.
• Lean Manufacturing and continuous‑improvement methodologies.
• Proficient problem‑solving techniques (5 Whys, 8D).
• Computer literacy and ability to use quality‑management software.
