Quality Engineer

About the role

The Quality Engineer will join the client’s Quality Management team in Halstead, Essex, ensuring that products meet project specifications and customer expectations. You will work closely with internal teams, suppliers and customers to drive continuous improvement across the manufacturing process.

Key responsibilities

• Assure product quality against project requirements.
• Monitor quality of internally and externally manufactured components.
• Compile internal and customer 8D reports.
• Visit customers to review quality performance.
• Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and reduce PPM.
• Gather and analyse production quality data, acting on trends.
• Maintain scorecards and associated monitoring systems.
• Participate in NPI and Process FMEA activities related to quality assurance.

Required profile

• Proven background in Quality Assurance.
• Knowledge of quality procedures and standards such as AS9100 or ISO 9001.
• Familiarity with 8D methodology and internal auditing.
• Ability to produce accurate documentation and work well in a team.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage at all organisational levels.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, Lean principles and engineering drawings.
