Quality Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our client’s team in Walton‑on‑Thames. The role will support the Quality Manager in maintaining and developing the Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with regulatory, customer and industry standards, and driving continuous improvement, particularly within the aerospace/defence electro‑plating sector.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Quality Manager in ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements (Legal, Financial, Export, Health & Safety, Employment, Environmental).
• Manage the company Quality Management System (QMS), Environmental Management System (EMS) and related approvals, including Nadcap and AS9100.
• Oversee the configuration management system to ensure conformance to military and commercial specifications and customer requirements.
• Develop and maintain training and people development systems.
• Support the development of technical capability within the business.
• Manage quality processes such as training & development, calibration, non‑conformances and continuous improvement.
• Authorise and sign company Certificates of Conformance.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ quality management experience at senior level.
• Lead Auditor qualification or 5 years’ auditing experience.
• Quality Assurance management qualification (I.Q.A. “A12” or equivalent) or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong business experience with proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
• Excellent communication, people management, planning and organisational abilities.
• Self‑motivated, goal‑oriented and high level of integrity.
