Quality Engineer

About the role

Artifex Interior Systems is seeking a Quality Engineer to lead customer‑focused quality activities across the product lifecycle. The role ensures that all products meet required quality standards, minimise costs and maximise customer satisfaction while adhering to established procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, internal teams and suppliers on all quality issues from program initiation to end‑of‑life.
• Manage product quality requirements through ISIR, capability studies, AAR and support NPI, APQP and PPAP processes.
• Define, specify and introduce test equipment and gauging to meet quality specifications.
• Develop and optimise measurement techniques using SPC and support DOE activities.
• Lead the preparation of Control Plans and support D/PFMEA reviews, documenting outcomes in required systems.
• Record, progress and close customer concerns using 8D or other problem‑solving methods.
• Oversee supplier APQP activities, KPI reporting for reject PPM and CAR performance, and conduct internal and external audits.
• Monitor warranty acceptance rates, negotiate warranty billing and manage open warranty projects.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Quality Engineer in an automotive 1st‑tier environment.
• Degree, HND, HNC, IQA or equivalent qualification.
• Experience with plastics manufacturing preferred.
• Familiarity with Jaguar and Land Rover programmes is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, influencing and negotiation abilities with a customer‑focused mindset.
