Quality Engineer – Mechanical & Manufacturing

About the role

We are looking for a Quality Engineer with a strong mechanical and manufacturing background to join a growing engineering organisation in Bristol. The role is hybrid, with three days on‑site each week, and offers the chance to work closely with supply chain, engineering, and quality teams.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve quality issues across internal teams, suppliers and customers.
• Manage supplier queries, drive corrective actions and conduct supplier audits.
• Support and improve the Quality Management System, ensuring ISO9001 compliance.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and supply‑chain teams to drive continuous quality improvements.
• Develop, review and maintain procedures, process documentation and quality plans.
• Conduct internal and external audits and present quality reports to senior management, customers and suppliers.
• Support KPI tracking and reporting.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a Quality Engineering role.
• Manufacturing or engineering background with ability to read engineering drawings.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented problem‑solver with strong cross‑functional communication skills.
• Eligibility to work permanently in the UK without sponsorship.

Required skills

• CMM operation and inspection methods.
• Use of measurement equipment.
• Working knowledge of ISO9001 QMS (familiarity with ISO14001, ISO45001, ISO27001).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
