Quality Engineer – Mechanical Products (PED/ATEX/ISO 9001)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join a respected manufacturer of safety‑critical mechanical equipment. You will own quality systems, drive compliance and continuous improvement, and work closely with engineering, production and suppliers in a specialist engineering environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage non‑conformances, customer complaints and root‑cause investigations.
• Lead internal audits against PED/PE(S)R, ATEX and ISO 9001 standards.
• Produce Inspection & Test Plans, Quality Plans and other project documentation.
• Support ASME BPVC material verification and maintain regulated quality systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, production and suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement improvements.

Required profile

• Background as a Quality Engineer or similar role.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience with mechanical products in a manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge of PED/PE(S)R, ATEX, ASME and ISO 9001 standards.

Required skills

• Knowledge of PED / PE(S)R standards.
• Knowledge of ATEX regulations.
• Familiarity with ASME BPVC verification.
• Understanding of ISO 9001 quality management.
• Proficiency in producing Inspection & Test Plans and Quality Plans.
