Quality Engineer - Product Quality

About the role

We are supporting a well‑established precision engineering business operating in highly regulated sectors such as aerospace and defence. The Quality Engineer will ensure that products meet customer specifications throughout manufacturing, working closely with production, inspection, engineering and manufacturing teams at the Greater Manchester facility.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate product non‑conformances and resolve manufacturing quality issues.
• Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities and raise concessions.
• Perform First Article Inspection (FAIR) and support APQP processes.
• Review engineering drawings and specifications to guide production and inspection.
• Carry out root‑cause investigations and drive product quality improvements.
• Collaborate with suppliers and customers on product‑related issues.

Required profile

• Experience in quality engineering within manufacturing, aerospace or defence.
• Time‑served inspector background is highly desirable.
• Hands‑on inspection experience with strong understanding of engineering drawings.

• CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) operation.
• Keyence measurement equipment.
• First Article Inspection (FAIR) methodology.
• APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) knowledge.
• MRB (Material Review Board) processes.
• Root‑cause investigation techniques.
