Quality Engineer – Royal Navy Redevelopment Project

About the role

We’re looking for a Quality Engineer to join our Royal Navy Redevelopment team based in Plymouth. The role is based at Devonport Dockyard and involves supporting the Quality Management team to implement and maintain quality systems across the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain an effective Quality Management System across all project levels.
• Conduct internal audits and ensure timely resolution of any findings.
• Review Inspection and Test Plans and support progressive sign‑off through client engagement.
• Manage the material approval process and obtain appropriate certifications.
• Provide guidance, training and mentoring to site teams on quality matters.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Quality or Construction (HNC, BSc, MSc, BEng or MEng).
• Experience working with Quality Management Systems and practical application.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
• Detail‑oriented with strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Holder or able to obtain a CSCS White PQP/AQP card and SC level security clearance (British passport required).
