Quality Inspector – Aerospace Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a Quality Inspector to join an aerospace manufacturer’s team at the Portsmouth clean‑room facility. The role ensures compliance with production and test operations for space equipment, following ECSS‑Q‑ST‑70‑61 standards and clean‑room procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a quality‑first culture and prevent non‑conformities within the clean‑room environment.
• Conduct design and integrity verification inspections on flight hardware and test setups according to ECSS standards.
• Identify, document and investigate non‑conformities in partnership with engineering and quality teams.
• Support root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Perform internal audits of clean‑room activities and complete Quality Verification Plan checks.
• Participate in Key Inspection Points (KIPs) and assist with critical moves, Ready‑for‑Test processes and flight packing.
• Promote health & safety and 5S practices, ensuring a safe and compliant clean‑room for operators and visitors.

Required profile

• Experience working in clean‑room or aerospace manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with ECSS‑Q‑ST‑70‑61 or related aerospace quality standards.
• Ability to manage non‑conformities, conduct audits and support root‑cause investigations.
• Strong awareness of health & safety regulations and 5S methodology.
