Quality Inspector

About the role

Tosoh Quartz, Inc. is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector for its Durham facility. In this hands‑on position you will ensure that quartz products meet the highest precision and compliance standards, directly influencing quality outcomes and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Compile and maintain quality records
• Prepare and submit First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)
• Perform goods‑in and visual inspections
• Investigate non‑conformities and support countermeasure implementation
• Audit quality processes throughout manufacturing
• Operate laser equipment and calibrate measuring tools
• Provide cross‑departmental support as needed

Required profile

• Engineering certificate with at least 1 year of related experience
• Ability to read complex engineering drawings and GD&T
• Strong attention to detail and basic math proficiency
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office and email
• Effective communication with internal and external customers
• Willingness to learn and adapt

Required skills

• Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, dial indicators, profilometers, optical comparators and microscopes
• Experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
• Laser equipment operation and measuring‑tool calibration
• Interpretation of GD&T specifications
