Quality Inspector

About the role

We are seeking a Quality Inspector to join our employee‑owned engineering manufacturing business in Cinderford. Working within an ISO 9001 quality management system, you will ensure that components and finished products meet customer specifications and our high standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out first‑off, in‑process and final inspections of components and finished goods.
• Complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) and maintain accurate quality documentation.
• Operate, and where possible program, Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
• Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, verniers, calipers and gauges to verify dimensions.
• Interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles during inspection.
• Identify non‑conforming items, support root‑cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Maintain inspection records for full traceability.
• Assist with internal and external audits to ensure ISO 9001 compliance.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing or precision engineering environment.
• Proficiency with CMM equipment; programming experience is a plus.
• Solid understanding of GD&T and ability to read engineering drawings.
• Experience completing FAIR documentation and first‑off/last‑off inspections.
• Strong attention to detail and methodical approach.
