Quality Inspector – Precision Component Inspection

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join a specialist engineering manufacturer. The role focuses on verifying precision components and sub‑assemblies, investigating non‑conformances and collaborating directly with suppliers to improve first‑time‑right performance.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect precision components and sub‑assemblies against engineering drawings and specifications.
• Use CMM, Faro Arm and standard metrology equipment to confirm dimensional compliance.
• Raise NCRs, communicate findings and support prompt supplier resolution.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis of non‑conformances and verify corrective actions.
• Act as the quality liaison between the shop floor, purchasing and external suppliers.
• Apply AQL inspection plans based on supplier performance, product criticality and new‑supplier status.
• Manage inspection controls and red‑flag status within the ERP system.
• Review supplier performance, contribute to KPIs and support supplier audits.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of inspection experience in a machine‑shop or comparable precision manufacturing environment.
• Experience working within an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system.
• Proven ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, datum structures and geometric tolerances.
• Strong independent work ethic with high accuracy and ownership.
