Quality Lineside Engineer

About the role

The Quality Lineside Engineer provides dedicated technical support to the Production and Autonomous Production Teams on the Chester site of a leading European aerospace manufacturer. Working exclusively night shifts (Monday‑Thursday, 8:45 pm – 6:00 am) the role focuses on identifying, analysing, and resolving production issues that fall outside the scope of operators and first‑line managers.

Key responsibilities

• Support the identification, assessment and documentation of non‑conformities (NC) on the shop floor.
• Produce detailed technical analysis, design query notes and re‑work orders for assembly anomalies and process deviations.
• Maintain and deliver work documentation, drawings, parts and tooling information to minimise lead‑time impacts.
• Coordinate with supply‑chain quality, maintenance, work preparation and other support functions to ensure timely containment and corrective actions.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives, waste elimination and LEAN‑based process optimisation.

Required profile

• Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace.
• Ability to work autonomously during night shifts and manage multiple technical issues simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence.
