Quality Manager – Aerospace

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead our aerospace quality function in the Kent/Essex border area. You will oversee the Quality Management System, ensure compliance with industry standards, and manage the inspection team.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, monitor and improve the Quality Management System (ISO 9100/AS9100).
• Lead a team of two inspectors and act as the company’s management representative for quality matters.
• Run the inspection and test departments, including calibration, testing and qualification activities.
• Create and approve First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) and Last Article Inspection Reports (LAIR).
• Plan and conduct internal and external audits, and support continuous skills development.

Required profile

• Solid experience in the aerospace sector with recent FAIR/LAIR exposure.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong initiative, time‑management and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
