Quality Planner & Compliance Coordinator (Maternity Cover)

About the role

This fixed‑term position supports a leading engineering firm in Middlesbrough while covering maternity leave. You will work closely with production and management teams to ensure customer requirements are planned, documented and met.

Key responsibilities

• Review contracts, customer drawings and specifications to verify quality requirements.
• Monitor outstanding contract review actions and provide progress updates to customers.
• Maintain production planning data in Smartsheet and assist with planning meetings.
• Support the Integrated Business Management System (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 19443).
• Conduct internal audits and assist with customer, certification and compliance audits.
• Track environmental performance and contribute to sustainability initiatives.
• Help maintain Health & Safety procedures, Cyber Essentials and JOSCAR accreditations.
• Provide general administrative support across departments.

Required profile

• Excellent organisational ability and strong attention to detail.
• Experience in a manufacturing, engineering or quality environment.
• Good communication skills and confidence when liaising with customers.
• Ability to prioritise workload, work independently and meet deadlines.
• Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office suite.
• Smartsheet (beneficial but not essential).
