Quality Supervisor – Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quality Supervisor to join a specialist manufacturing client at their Somerset factory. The role combines hands‑on quality control, production support and team leadership within a high‑performing industrial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of quality inspectors, planning workloads and coaching staff.
• Manage inspection activities including dimensional checks, visual inspection and non‑destructive testing.
• Investigate quality issues, handle non‑conformities and drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain accurate quality documentation, records and customer quality enquiries.
• Monitor workflow, productivity and operational performance.
• Support trials, process improvements and new product introductions.
• Ensure alloy and material conformity through effective quality controls.
• Train operators on inspection techniques, measurement equipment and quality procedures.

Required profile

• Experience in manufacturing, engineering, casting or foundry environments.
• Previous supervisory or team‑lead experience.
• Strong understanding of quality control processes and inspection methods.
• Knowledge of manufacturing defects, root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action processes.
• Familiarity with problem‑solving tools such as 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa or PDCA.
• Understanding of quality standards and compliance requirements.
• Ability to interpret technical information and collaborate with production teams.
