Quality Technician

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quality Technician to join a well‑established precision engineering manufacturer in Cheshire. The role involves ensuring that materials, processes and products meet strict quality and regulatory standards within safety‑critical sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Resolve material certification issues with suppliers, stockists and test houses.
• Liaise with Engineering and Quality teams on certification queries.
• Support and advise suppliers on material specifications and standards.
• Conduct witness testing to verify compliance with company and customer requirements.
• Carry out internal audits of QMS, products and processes.
• Investigate returned products, producing CARs and 8D reports.
• Assist with supplier performance reviews, audits and corrective actions.
• Create and maintain quality documentation such as procedures, work instructions and alerts.
• Analyse product or process failures and perform root‑cause investigations (8D, 5 Whys).

Required profile

• Experience in a quality role within manufacturing or engineering.
• Knowledge of quality testing methods and standards.
• Ability to interpret engineering material specifications.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or API standards.
• Experience with quality methodologies such as 8D and root‑cause analysis.
• Strong attention to detail and proactive attitude.
